One of the most vicious aspects of the disinformation campaign against Gaurav Srivastava, as exposed on part 2 of his interview on Targeted, is how what was going on in the virtual, digital world, spilled over into the real world. As negative stories spread about Gaurav online, his closest friends, family and associates were being fed these stories by email and by cold calls. As some of the organizations he supported buckled under the pressure and began distancing themselves from him and his foundation, new stories were generated about his isolation within the community – a magic circle which fed itself on lies and disinformation.
